Keith Rowe and Texas Dixon met as young men in the Kingston suburb of Saint Andrew Parish in the 1960s and have since then followed their shared passion for ska, rocksteady and reggae. The result of this collaboration, which lasted until 1970, is preserved on numerous singles as the climax of the phase in which fast ska gave way to the slow, harmonious rocksteady style. Despite some excellent original compositions, Keith & Tex are best known worldwide for their version of "Stop That Train", written in 1965, which was used in the form of samples by the Beastie Boys and Vanilla ICE. Twelve timelessly beautiful songs from this great era of Jamaican music are now lovingly compiled and remastered again in "Redux".
