Best of the great Jamaican soul singer. He has without doubt one of the most beautiful soul voices in Jamaica: Pat Kelly, born in Kingston in 1949, was able to extract something magical from every melody with his falsetto. Influenced by US soul star Sam Cook, Kelly began his career in 1967 as the singer of the band The Techniques. Kelly also made a name for himself as a sound engineer for the Channel 1 studio in the 70s and 80s. "Jamaican Soul" focuses on Kelly, the soul singer, however. The album brings together his best recordings, including his own songs and cover versions by Curtis Mayfield and James Carr. Soul from Jamaica from one of the island's best singers.
