LP This is the Upsessions (incl. CD)

The Upsessions album for the 10th anniversary of the band And again the guys around Mastermind Boss" Van Trigt present a delicious potpourri of Boss Reggae, vintage Ska, Calypso and Rocksteady. I icing on the cake like the spaghetti-western instrumental "The last return of Rawhide" reminiscent of the Upsetters. It is precisely the many lovingly scattered details that make the whole thing so authentic, such as the understated melodic ame in "Samoan Revenge". And wonderful how the Dutch keep picking up on the old themes of the 60s and early 70s and continuing them, for example in "Ride on donkey", which is the continuation of Dobby Dobson's "Ride me donkey".
